Europe’s one of the most important ski center Erzurum is preapraing for a different excitement nowadays. Home of the Dadaş’, who hosted several big international organizations before, is ready to welcome its guests the 13th of European Youth Olympic Winter Festival.

Turkey will host the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, which is organized by European Olympic Committee (EOC) in every two years, for the first time in his history. More than 800 athletes from almost 40 country will compete in Erzurum which is one of the most important ski center of Europe.

EYOF 2017 Erzurum will bring together the young athletes between 14 and 18 ages. Young starlets will compete in 9 branches including Alpine Skiing, Cross Country, Biathlon, Curling, Figure Skating, Ice Hockey, Short Track, Ski Jumping, Snowboard.

Turkey will be represented by 69 athletes (24 female and 45 male) in the organization which is significantly important for young starlets to show their poteantial to participate Olympic Games.

Olympic Experience fort he Young Athletes

European Youth Olympic Festival which counts as the Olympic experience for the young athletes first started in 1991 in Belgium with the summer festival. Winter festival first time included after two years in 1993. And now, 13th of the winter fesitval will be organized in Turkey.

Turkey participated last winter festival which was hosted in Liechtenstein with total of 29 athletes (12 female, 17 male).

An Important Center for Winter Sports: Erzurum

By hosting important international organizations, Erzurum not only increased its awareness all across the World but also gained an important experience.

Starting with 2011 Universiade Erzurum organized important events like U23 Nordic World Championships and World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2012. Now city is ready to represent its experience in EYOF 2017.

EYOF 2017 Erzurum races will take place in total of seven facilities including Palandöken and Konaklı Ski Center, Ski Jumping Towers, Curling Arena, Ice Hockey dome, ice scating and short track facility.



Turkey will host a Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) edition for the first time in history since its beginning in 1993 in Italy. EYOF 2017 will be held from 11 to 18 February 2017 in Erzurum, the most experienced city of Turkey in winter games.
