At its Executive Committee meeting in Lausanne today, the Members heard an update on preparations for the 2017 Erzurum Winter EYOF from the EYOF Manager Ms Katerina Nycova, who reported that preparations are virtually complete and that all the necessary security measures are in place for the guarantee of the safety of the participants.

The security measures include the presence of 3.000 security staff, police, special forces, gendarmerie and private security guards dedicated to EYOF operations only, plus 1.900 police staff responsible for security and safety in the city.

The snow and weather conditions promise to be excellent, and so the premises are that this will be another memorable winter EYOF. Our Turkish hosts are ready to welcome the 1’300 registered NOC delegation-members and accompanying persons, and show off their wonderful Turkish hospitality. Many invited guests, families, friends, fans and media are also expected.

President Kocijančič thanked the EYOF Commission and the Erzurum 2017 Coordination Commission for their commitment and hard work, and reiterated the EOC’s gratitude towards the NOC of Turkey and the Turkish Government for their wonderful show of support in accepting to take over the hosting of 2017 winter EYOF from Sarajevo and East Sarajevo at such short notice, adding that he looked forward to greeting everyone in Erzurum.



European Olympic Committees (EOC) said that EYOF 2017 Erzurum's preparations are going on as planned and they're happy about it.
